That was pretty funny. I saw the Focus on the Family ad early in the Super Bowl, and it was actually rather bland (although I despise Dobson and his org). BTW, what a great game!

The Super Bowl was really a stupid place to run that add. Did they really think it would be playing to a receptive audience?

I'll drink to that. Or anything else for that matter.

I really don't think that people were flocking to the FOTF website during the game. Some people might have, but I'm betting it didn't get flooded.

And who really cares about Tim Tebow's mom's story? It's just another case of someone not listening to the doctor and could have had dire consequences. Sometimes risky pregnancies turn out OK in the end. However, a lot of them don't.

Judging by Tim Tebow's virulent religiosity, I'm not so sure this pregnancy turned out so well. Seriously, if I were still religious, I'd be embarrassed by his Bible verses emblazoned on his face. I would have felt that it cheapens and trivializes the religion. Since I'm not religious, I find it offensively risible. I should be able to watch a football game without having a player pushing his religion on his face. That's worse than the "John 3:16" sign that one occasionally sees in the stands.

Meanwhile, while gawd answered prayers for the Saints to win hundreds of more people in Haiti died from loss of limbs, and thousands more in Asia, Africa, etc. died from starvation.

Uh. Yeah. www.pic4ever.com/images/89.gif

I wanted the Saints to win, but I certainly didn't waste any time praying for it. I just wantedthe Big Uneasy to have something to be happy about.

FOF scored bigger than the bowl the minute their ad was accepted, with the tons of free publicity over the controversy. Smart on their part. I don't like them either, but you've got to give them credit.

Well, that remains to be seen. It may have a boomerang effect.
