.xxx domain approved for porn sites
Skeeve
This is something I can agree with. At the moment is strictly voluntary, but I'd like to see all porn moved to .xxx.

On Friday, the board of directors of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, which oversees the Internet's naming system, approved the creation of a red-light district online for pornographic websites. It follows a decade-long battle over such a name.

Here are 3 points-of-view from the article:

Religious groups say:
giving adult websites their own corner of the Internet legitimizes the content

Pornographers say:
...it will ghettoize their sites. Although it's meant to be voluntary, they fear governments could try to mandate the domain's use, so that pornographic content is more easily blocked.

Supporters say:
approving the domain is in keeping with the principle of openness that has fueled the Internet's growth.

Well, fuck what the religious say, we all know the hypocrisy with them and porn. Pfft

I think placing all porn at .xxx would be excellent. It would get those idiot net nannys out of our lives. If you want porn, and are an adult, go to .xxx. If you're a parent, block .xxx from your home computers. Everyone is happy. No more children typing in the wrong address and getting an eyeful of goatse by accident.

I think its actually a pretty good idea although instead of .xxx maybe they should consider .virus

lol, excellent.

I think this is a very good idea, for the same reasons cited by Skeeve. I see no real reason why it shouldn't be done this way.

I don't know what this is, but I've learned that around here, I probably don't want to ask. I also probably don't want to get an eyeful, on purpose or by accident.

Being basically anal-rentenive when it comes to Information of any kind?

I'm all in favor of the new .XXX category myself.

But I would have made it mandatory-- any NC-17 content or worse not originating on the .XXX site is subject to fines and immediate closure.

Face it: many of the folks who run porn are not the most trustworthy fellows there are ...

I bet the goatse guy isn't anal retentive any more. If you really want to know what the goatse pic is, just google it.
You're just jealous because the voices are talking to me and not you.

Ack!! An eye full, and eye full!!

Just happened to have that handy, did ya?

Pfft

I doubt if I'll ever be able to look at a tree trunk with a knot hole the same way I used to ever again. Sigh...

Heh, I found it online one day and gave it to someone on RnR as a 'gift'. Grin

I think porn is brilliant in general. Im also not sold on this one domain to rule them all.

What if you like to combine your porn with your philosophy? Or recently highlighted by TYT, your stripping with therapy?

And the thing about children stumbling upon things, I got hooked on tits very young, in the UK is a tabloid paper called the Sun. On page 3 are topless women - I used to salvage this page from the paper and keep it. Not sure how old I was, but was definately younger than 11.

Am I dirty to like porn? Skeeve, you and I are men, but we like different porn. Nothing wrong with that.

The content is already legitimized...guess what? I have a cock and balls, I am horny....are you shocked? I MASTURBATE, is ANYONE SHOCKED?!

Ghettoize? Isn't this industry already fucked up? I really don't respect the men(with HUGE OVER SIZED PENISES) or the women(with gaping holes) that can accommodate the HUGE PENIS!

WOOOOOOOO!

It is possible TE Smile
I'm all in favor of .XXX, now I know where to get all my bestiality, homosexual, necrophiliac, incestuous, underage porn at!

I would be interested to see how it would be monitored, as I hinted at earlier - sometimes nudity is both pornographic and artistic.

Would this mean, say I wanted to post a drawing I had made of a naked woman, would it have to be reviewed to see if anyone was aroused by it, then filed under either the .com I intended it to go on (facebook, deviantart, photobucket) or would it have to go under the .xxx (facefuck, deviant-tart, cumbucket)?

Im not up on my interwebs coding, but logistically I cannot see how they will do it.

Cheshiredragon, how do I block the .info mails? At the moment ive been doing it one by one, but thats futile.

A very good point. Where will the lines be drawn?

I'll get back to you TE, I don't use hotmail.

It would be hard to draw the line. All guys can vouch for me on this..........The thing I have learned is that the older I get the less sensitive I am. Back in the day all it took was a page out of a victoria's secret catalog and now I need mid-40s, divorcee, gaping anus porn....or whatever it is that you are at. I have gone around the horn and I am almost back to network television.
OR should we use Bill Hicks' definition? "Anything that has no artistic merit and causes sexual thought." If you don't get that..re-read my post. I mean, I would classify ANY nudity as artistic, isn't the female body just beautiful?

Theory_Execution
Some are, some aren't.

I watched a documentary a good while ago, that talked of tribal sexuality. The particular tribe that was discussed had strong loving relationships, based on sexual interaction that was not limited to 'private areas'.

As flesh was constantly on show, there was no hightened arousal at the sight of side-boob or the top of a stocking, as such, when being intimate it was common practice that all areas of the body were caressed.

Im not saying we should all walk round naked, but these opinions that a glimpse of flesh will corrupt a childs mind is nonsense. Your understanding of anything you see is generally shaped by the prejudice of the society you grow up in.

Tag the flag idea, I dont know many people in the UK that would bat an eye lid over someone burning our flag, in the US it seems people call for arrests. (correct me if im wrong there).

So why not just accept, that the torture of minds that is apparent in modern society, is self inflicted.

That definition is completely useless. Who defines what "artistic merit" is? And we know that what causes "sexual thought" is totally variable.
