Catholic investigator jailed for child porn
He was a child safety coordinator, investigating historic claims of sex abuse.

A Catholic Church child safety co-ordinator who was in charge of investigating sexual abuse allegations was jailed for 12 months today for internet peadophile offences.

Christopher Jarvis, 49, a married father-of-four, investigated historic claims of child abuse, interviewing the victims when they were adults.

He was responsible for child protection at 120 churches and parish community groups for nine years.

The court heard that 4,389 images were found on the laptop and memory stick.

The majority, 3,721, were at Level One, the lowest level for abusive images.

But there were 120 at Level Four, which includes scenes of child rape, and 12 at Level Five, which can include scenes of torture and sadism.

Jarvis, who the court heard claimed he was abused as a child, was sentenced at the city's crown court after admitted 12 counts of making, possessing and distributing indecent images at a previous magistrates' court hearing.

12 months. For this he'll spend 1 year in jail.

This should surprise no one. It took me awhile to dig the name up but Cardinal William Levada the "prefect of the doctrine of the congregation of the faith" (what does that mean) is responsible for handling priest abuse cases world wide.

As archbishop in San Francisco he covered up priest abuse cases. It is important to the hierarchy of the church to maintain its ability to be perverts. They need that ability in order to attract men to a life of celibacy.

.... meh.

If by "celibacy" you really mean "diddling the kiddies".. then yeah...

Reality is that which is left, after you stop believing.
The RCC is doing a great job of rehabilitating itself, isn't it?

People do not care enough to do what is right. It just shows how cripling Faith is to people.

A white skinned, blue eyed and blonde haired little girl goes missing while on holiday, and the nation staggers back in dismay at the thought of a dark skinned foreigner taking the child. PM brands the foreign countries police incompetent and negligent creating a diplomatic nightmare. Private investigators flock to the country to help out, millions donate to charity created in the girls name. Papers print 'stories' for a year straight, and follow up each month for the years following.

Hundreds of thousands of children are raped (some killed) over decades by a known enemy, with agents all over the world - and a few lawyers take on the case, a little money is paid out, and the enemy carries on unobstructed in the world.

seeker, you are absolutely correct. We as atheists have no morals because no one has told us what they are.

TE it is fascinating but sad how institutional evil can be ignored. "The Church" has been evil for centuries. Only the Italian people seem to understand that, maybe because they live with it.
